Conclusion
Our analysis has demonstrated a favorable upside for the implementation and the roll out of SAP across all offices nationwide. Right now, Graybar’s current business strategy and organizational structure do not support the inclusion of SAP, despite its’ financial benefits as well as its’ effectiveness with CRM. Because of this, Graybar is not operating at the level which is the standard for the industry and the lack of synergy is the underlying issue. In order for Graybar to include a sophisticated ERP such as SAP, the company would need to transform its way of doing business as well as its’ IT Infrastructure and architecture in order to support the more modern Network structure. The change in structure would help align the company with its’ overarching goal, making it more productive and cost efficient. On the topic of financials, sales would increase due to the increase in customer satisfaction, and costs would lower with the decline in demand for specialists. For the reasons above, we believe the implementation of SAP would be beneficial to Graybar’s business processes and help the company fully utilize its resources and obtain the competitive advantage it needs to obtain more market share.
